Oh we do like to be beside the seaside

Oh we do like to be beside the seaside

Hi there!
Greetings from sunny Brighton.
December the 29th, and what a glorious day!

Everyone and his brother went to the coast darn sarf today!
And why wouldn’t you ?
It was beautiful,
the sun was warm on your face, but the air was icy cold.
Parked right along the waterfront and walked miles.

Mark, his lovely girlfriend Alex and I spent the day together.
Fish & chips on the pier.

Then we dived into the Lanes,
bobbing and weaving through the throngs of happy shoppers,
all looking for those post-Christmas bargains....

Personally, I couldn’t be bothered.
I did find a very cool jacket for Dave,
but I’ve had enough of shopping to last me at least a year.

I was much more impressed with the super excellent Christmas lights! Aren’t they brilliant?!

I do like Brighton.
I love the architecture. It’s all those Victorian balconies I like.

Don’t these two make a handsome couple?

It was a shame that Grace and Nick missed Brighton
and the glorious sunshine.
But New York was a-calling....

And before you knew it,
the sun was setting and the sky was perfect.
“Look Mum!” said Mark, “It looks just like your brayer artwork”
Now how many 24 year old lads do you know
who know what a brayer is?

So we wandered back along the waterfront,

waved goodbye to the Pier,

and came home to a tasty piping hot Cottage Pie
I had prepared earlier.

I have been full of gratitude today.
After the traumatic news of Carrie Fisher’s death and her poor mum Debbie Reynolds’ death just a day later,
what else is there except gratitude?
I am grateful Dave is so well this year.
I am grateful to have spent so much time with my parents
and kids this Christmas.
I am grateful I don’t do drugs or drink.
I am grateful my kids aren’t tormented by drugs or drink.
It guarantees nothing, but it certainly reduces the probability of a premature exit.
And as I walked along the waterfront today,
it just felt good to be alive and sober.

Until tomorrow...
Love & Hugs,

Barb

Outfit Like a dress

Outfit Like a dress

Good morning guys! Today I show you the look you wore yesterday to go to visit Sevilla de Moda. Its installations and
its professionals impressed me a lot. In the coming days I will publish a post about them. Regarding the look, it is a
suede jacket that became a dress because I looked very big. I added a brown belt, a suede jacket and my new bag
from Menbur. I hope you enjoy and see you on Friday with another outfit!

Oncologists Don’t Like Baking Soda Cancer Treatment Because It’s Too Effective and Too Cheap

Oncologists Don’t Like Baking Soda Cancer Treatment Because It’s Too Effective and Too Cheap

Often the cancer patients agree to chemotherapy without knowing of its negative side effects. The chemo is very much toxic but still is the lead first treatment for cancer. The only reason that the chemo treatment is still present are the money who companies provide from it. Chemo sometimes boost the cancer and it is not effective.

The unknown useful information is that from baking soda also can be provided cancer treatment. One man once declared that he cured his cancer with baking soda. The treatment from baking soda in this case, for breast cancer is the same reason that few years ago one doctor received remuneration to study and prove the benefits of sodium bicarbonate. This in the future maybe will be the safest and effective treatment.

The doctor successfully provided a program and made a successful cancer treatment protocols in addition of the fact that sodium bicarbonate indeed makes tumors more alkaline and inhibit metastasis. It can increase also the pH of acidic tumors without making any damage to the pH of the blood and tissues.

The mixture is simple by using 12g baking soda combined with 2 cups of water and low calorized sweater by your choice. Drink a sip three times a day from the mixture in every 2 hours.
The baking soda is not only useful for cancer treatment it also helps with kidney disease, diabetes, influenza and sometimes it helps even with flu. When it is mixed with water or better the water is high with magnesium content it becomes the strongest medicinal for diseases. It is also very helpful and effective with cases of radiation exposure.

The Dr. Robert Gillies already proved that the treatment with baking soda is useful and it alkalizes the area around tumors.
Baking soda – as we said before, the soda has many benefits and it is used not just as medicine but also in baking, hygiene products (toothpastes- as cleaning and whitening agent), to soft the vegetables, sometimes tenderize meat. It is known with names as, cooking soda, bread soda or maybe bicarbonate of soda. It is different from the washing soda but they do share the taste of alkaline and salt.
Connections with pH – if our pH is unstable we will not be able to resist the gunny flues or colds or any

other disease. Our pH needs to be kept in safe and healthy range and also necessarily diet changes are needed which will protect us over the long term while the use of sodium bicarbonate gives us a start toward increased alkalinity. If we ever face ourselves with numbers that are up or down from 7.35-7.45 pH range we face with difficulties as low fighting against the diseases. The cellular integrity will compromise directly from the body’s extra fluids and connective tissue cells by not effectively neutralizing and eliminating the acids. The body becomes alkalinized and negative effects are coming if this is not corrected rapidly. John Barron declares the benefits of alkaline water. It is well known that for survival the cells need oxygen.
Combined, the hydrogen ions and the acid are tiding up the oxygen. Our health is maintained by oxygen. If we have more acid in our blood, the lower is the pH and less oxygen is available for use. The acid always “swallows” all of the available oxygen. The same situation is with cancer. The more oxygen is available, the higher is the pH and the harder is for cancer to thrive.
Baking soda (one kind of cure for cancer) – malignant tumors are masses of rapidly growing cells. Carbohydrates and sugars are used in large amount by cancer cells. Sometimes lactic and pyruvic acids are formed. In normal condition they disappear very fast but in case like this they multiply very fast and they live and accumulate in the environment of the tumor. In short lines the cancer needs acids to grown and spread. To lower the acidy inside, you don’t need anything remarkable medicine or expensive drug, you only need nothing but sodium bicarbonate. The oral receive of it is can and can be useful but not as much as useful by direct inject in the tumor. Alkalinized effect of sodium bicarbonate can indeed stop cancer.
In one 2009 study, published in journal called “Cancer research” the results from one testing made quite an impression with fact that baking soda is really helpful and indeed is raising the pH and reducing the metastases. Also it reduces the environment of the lymph and did not spread the cancer cells to other organs.

Baking soda as treatment for cancer- Dr. Sircus explained the treatment in one of his books, presented by one of his patients who had a fight with prostate cancer which was mediatized to his bones.
The patient on the first day mixed 1 teaspoon of baking soda with 1 teaspoon of molasses in a cup of water.

He took this for another 3 days after which his saliva pH read 7.0 and his urine pH read 7.5.
Stunned by the results, the patient took the solution 2 times on day 5 instead of once daily. And from day 6 — 10, he took 2 teaspoons each of baking soda and molasses twice daily.
By the 10th day, the patient’s pH had risen to 8.5. The only side effects he had were headaches and night sweat.

After that the patient had a bone scan and too other medical tests. The results showed that his PSA (prostate-specific antigen, the protein used to determine the severity of prostate enlargement and prostate cancer) level was down from 22.3 at the point of diagnosis to 0.1.
Mixing 90 teaspoons of maple syrup with 30 teaspoons of baking soda is another formula recommended. While doing this, the maple syrup must be heated to become less viscous. Then the baking syrup is added and stirred for 5 minutes until full desolation.
This preparation should provide about 10-day worth of the baking soda remedy. 5 — 7 teaspoons per day is the recommended dose for cancer patients.

Overzealous Is Your Middle Name Which Makes You Just Like Most Authors

Overzealous Is Your Middle Name Which Makes You Just Like Most Authors

I submitted three chapters and a synopsis to two editors I met at a very small regional SCBWI event. When I sent the 3 chaps, thinking I had a minimum of 4-6 months wait ahead of me, I was aware my MS still needed a last copyedit and a proofread. When Editor A requested the full MS, only three weeks later, complete with scribbled smiley face on her note to me, I was elated.... and horrified to find my story wasnt as ready as I thought. The second half (at least) had some serious issues which suddenly became glaringly obvious to me now that someone actually wanted to see the full. Im sure I made a complete gaffe of the situation: I sent Editor A the first half of the MS, and explained what had happened, with an assurance I was committed to fixing the issues. Editor A quickly rejected my half MS with a form letter. No real surprises there, I guess, a sharp rap on the knuckles, and a hard lesson learned.

Ah... well, I cant speak for all editors, but if I had the first half of a novel and was really excited about it, I would let the author know that Id love to see the rest when it was done.
Unless it was about vampires, zombies, or angels. Only manuscripts ready to be sent to the printer can have those in them right now. Damned angels.

At the same time, youre right, you shouldnt be submitting a novel that isnt finished, so Im glad youre taking this as a lesson.
Im wondering whats the best way to handle Editor B: just to send her a letter and withdraw my MS from consideration at this point? I dont want to waste her time. But Im not expecting that she will request the full. And I dont want to come across as Stupidity Exhibit A to someone whom I admire. How is an author, if shes silly enough to be there, expected to handle this kind of situation? Talk about arguing for ones limitations....
Let her know that you feel youve noticed a couple problem areas and want to send the manuscript to her once its really as good as you can make it. She should appreciate that. And give her an idea of how soon that might be: a month? A couple months? I dont mean to pressure you, but we like people who have a new book every year or two.

Oh Dee we do like to be beside the seaside!!!

Oh Dee we do like to be beside the seaside!!!

Hi there
Thanks for popping in.

Just got in from a day with my mate Dee.
It was just what the doctor ordered.

A morning of crafting together - now THAT’S something we haven’t done for a while!
It was so enjoyable, working together, chatting away,
catching up.

She’s a good egg. And a very astute one, too.
It was good to run some stuff by her and get her honest opinion.
She’s a straight shooter; says it as it is.

Then after lunch with a view, it was time to take Sam for a walk.

What a glorious beach!

And what a lovely little pal Sam is.

He’s a Jack Russell - Chihuahua cross.
Smashing little dog.

Far from the madding crowd...

Just us, Sam and a pebble beach.

Sam. aka Frisbee nut.

So I’ve come home tired but happy.
And thinking about our dogs, Dutchie and Duke.
Our two black labs.
Miss them greatly since they went off to Rainbow Bridge,
and often say to Dave how good it would be to have a dog again. Or two.
But he’s right. With the lifestyle we lead, the run around,
it wouldn’t be fair on the animals.
And Romeo the old cat
would have a fit if dogs suddenly pitched up!

But down the road a little perhaps.....

Time to stop and sit in the garden.
Enjoy this glorious weather.

Don’t forget to leave an uplifting comment below,
to be in with a chance to win that fabulous artwork from Dee,
with the £20 gift voucher inside!
She even made a special envelope for it....

Love and hugs

Barb

Only Heidi Klum Looks Like This After Losing Her Luggage

Only Heidi Klum Looks Like This After Losing Her Luggage

Only Heidi Klum Looks Like This After Losing Her Luggage

Heidi Klums creative talents came out to play yesterday, at a luncheon celebrating her fifth Wildlife jewelry collection with QVC. The supermodel, fresh off a lost-luggage catastrophe, was in high spirits despite her missing possessions, probably thanks to her valuable friendship with Michael Kors. "I cant believe someone was in the office that early, but I called from my hotel and an hour later there it was," Klum said of her scuba-tight black mini that would act as a minimal canvas for what was about to ensue.
Running around the room in an accessories-starved tizzy, Klum began to throw on heaps of jewelry. "All my jewelry is gone so Im just going to put this stuff on now," she said, asking for styling opinions from neighboring journalists. After settling on about five bangles, three rings, a statement necklace, and a pair of earrings, Klums ensemble was complete, though batting her eyelashes she contested, "I actually dont think my stuff is that sparkly." So, sparkles are her neutral?
Following four successful collections with QVC, Klums fifth rendition of Wildlife was inspired by vintage pieces modified to her taste. She explained how a metallic necklace was inspired by a smaller-scale brooch and how a butterfly cuff took influence from her bathroom mirror, though there were certainly enough rhinestones to go around. "I design for myself but keep other women in mind of course, I make sure to make different sizes of cuffs because I know that not everyone has a teeny tiny wrist," she said, "but Im really about making statement pieces—little things dont show up on camera, so Im always wearing bigger pieces."
The collection, available starting May 17th, starts at about $32 for a pair of earrings and runs up to $115 for a multi-strand necklace, and Klum advises, "I dont want people to be afraid to bend things or change them to make them work better, theyre just fun!"
