Buenos días bonitos! Por fin es viernes! Hoy os traigo un nuevo look compuesto por colores tierra. Estrenaba mi falda
midi plisada con un nuevo top con los hombros a descubiertos de Asos. Me encantó la mezcla de colores y texturas, así
que no dudaré en repetir este outfit... no podía ir más cómoda! Espero que os guste y que tengáis un buen fin de semana!

Just harried enough. Going on trips always seems attract all manner of little emergencies that must be attended to. Not like I have a bazillion things to still prepare for. Anyway, were off tomorrow morning and we hope to post updates of our progress. Weve got quite a line up of people to meet and I must say that this is very exciting! AND were going to do a Sketchcrawl with these folks!
I hope to draw and write while on the plane. Likely Ill be dozing off and failing to read Shannons book. Or not writing Paper Biscuit stories. And that other project, or that one other concern...oh, well. The laptop will thwart me, Im sure, and therell be no Don Shank in sight.

Honk if youve heard this one:
- "I could never just sit there and knit. I dont have the patience."
- "My grandmother / Aunt Betsy / sainted mama / Avon lady / Girl Scout Leader/ field hockey coach used to do that!"
- "I think its so sad that nobody knits any more."
- "How much would you charge to make me a [name of project]?"
My favorite of these is number three, because it leads me inevitably to the conclusion that I have died and am now a ghost. I would love to be a ghost, because the list of people I plan to haunt is longer than my nose and I might as well get on with it.
My least favorite comment is the last, because the well-meaning person who asks to hire your needles is seldom prepared for any answer you may give.
- "I dont sell my work" sounds snotty (even if you dont mean to be).
- "You couldnt afford it" sounds presumptuous (because it is).
- "For a pair of socks like this, at least three hundred bucks" will bring a gasp of disbelief followed by a minor cardiac event. And once the paramedics have left and the spilled drink is mopped up, you have to talk to the innocent victim about fair trade, and the rights of artisans to earn a living wage, and the number of stitches in a sock, and Wal-Mart, and how actually, no, good yarn doesnt cost about a buck a ball.
Once in a great while, however, the questioner throws you a curve ball. A couple months ago, a good friend of mine asked about a hat for his wife. I hemmed. I hawed. I offered him another vodka stinger. He insisted.
I estimated the price of good yarn. He didnt blink.
I estimated the cost of labor. He blinked.
But then he said, "Okay. So, for that price could you have it ready in time for Christmas?"
Well, alrighty then. I could, and did, and here it is.
Its worked in Madeline Tosh Vintage.
I kept copious notes in case it might, some day, turn into a pattern.
In a few places the cables cross and travel at the same time, which is something I hadnt played with before. I love the effect, but I wrote on Twitter this reminded me of a diamond-studded toilet seat (pretty, but a pain in the ass) and Fiona Ellis got all mad at me.
Lessons learned:
- always quote a fair price, even if you think it wont possibly be accepted; and
- it never hurts offer the client another vodka stinger.

Buenos días a todos! ¿Que tal va la semana? Yo hoy descanso en el trabajo así que muy contenta! Mañana nos iremos en
busca de un poco de sol y relax. El look que os traigo hoy es el que llevé ayer para salir a tomar algo. Estrenaba mi nuevo vestido sin mangas con detalles de crochet, ¿no es ideal? Además, el color es precioso! Lo combiné con mis sandalias
más cómodas y bolso joya. Espero que os guste el look y nos vemos el viernes con otro! Feliz día!
Good morning to all! The look that I show you today is that I took yesterday to go for a walk. I premiered my new off-shoulder dress with crochet details, is not ideal? Also, the color is beautiful! Buenos días chicos! Para empezar la semana os traigo el look que llevé el fin de semana pasado para pasear por la playa. Estrenaba mi nuevo top de hombros descubiertos y lo combiné con uno de mis shorts favoritos de Mentha. Como complementos, mis sandalias mallorquinas de Marypaz y mi inseparable Daniel. Espero que os guste y nos vemos el
miércoles con otro outfit!

Heres a recent video from John McCain about Christianities role in the USA whilst campaigning to Beliefnet.com.
Which is of course massively factually inaccurate, not least because most of the founding fathers were deists and "In God We Trust" not being the motto of the USA till the 50s.
And heres Barak Obama giving a speech in 2006:
I dislike heavily edited things so here is the full 40min talk by Obama (I couldnt find a longer clip of McCain).
I think everyone who makes their way to this site (regardless of their faith) are going to be a lot more impressed with the latter talk - hell after the last 8 years its almost astonishing. It will be interesting to see if Obama sticks to his guns on the topic, the fact that talk was given in a church is a good sign after all. Heres hoping.
Despite our special relationship I find it reassuring that whilst Presidential candidates in America talk like McCain here in the UK Tony Blair was worried that people might think him a "A Nutter" .
Overall I think that is a far healthier position to be in.

| Ho sempre avuto un debole per le cose "non convenzionali" , mi è sempre piaciuto stare fuori dal coro ... Sono dei Gemelli, ma non seguo affatto loroscopo , leggo soltanto ogni tanto qualcosa sui caratteri dei segni zodiacali .... Dei gemelli essendo un segno "doppio" si parla spesso di dualità... ove la maggiorate delle persone pensano subito a "doppia faccia" .... Non per difendere il "segno" ma io lho intesa in un altro modo ... dualità ... posso essere un aggettivo ma anche il suo contrario ... Ascoltate bene "posso essere" , non "sono" Alle volte ... non è una regola ... Per quanto mi riguarda poi la doppia faccia proprio non mi appartiene ... Non ho filtri e zero ipocrisia .... per questo amo molto anche la solitudine .... Ma torniamo al fatto che ho un debole per tutto quello che non è convenzionale .... Il tailleur è una mia creazione ... la giacca lho voluta "Off Shoulders " , non la solita giacca .... e non è una maglia . E a tutti gli effetti una giacca !!! Bella bella bella , mi piace molto ... unico piccolo errore la stoffa che ho scelto ... Non è elasticizzata abbastanza .... Avrei voluto leffetto "attillata , attillatissima" invece fa qualche grinza .... Sto già cercando una stoffa che renda più giustizia a questo modello di giacca .... Il tailleur comunque mi piace comunque molto ... Un altro Pezzo che si aggiunge alla mia collezione personale "unconventional Secrets " A vi che ve ne pare ????? |
