Outfit New graffiti
Outfit New graffiti

Good morning guys! Today I show you a look with one of my favorite skirts. We saw this new graffiti on the river and
we liked it so much we wanted that it was the background of the photos. I hope you enjoy the pictures and see you on
Friday with another outfit!

Our new little monster friend!
Our new little monster friend!
Kade and I got a package in the mail from the wierdbuglady! Thanks Brigette, we love him :)

I won a contest over at her blog, and this cute little guy is my prize! I was going to keep him for myself, but Kade has claimed the little dude already, and even fed him a penny.
If you would like your own little monster friend, click *here*!! Wierdbuglady also has some other amazing things in her etsy shop! Here are some of my favorites:
Timmy the Gigantic Tobacco Hornworm Caterpillar soft sculpture:

Patrick the Platypus (platypuses are one of my favorite animals!)

(photos by wierdbuglady)She pays great attention to detail and accuracy, and is extremely talented! I never thought ticks, mealybugs, and daphnias were cute until I saw the ones in her shop, and I just want to squeeze them all. They are so adorable! So, go check it out, youll be glad you did! :)

Our New Coffee Table
Our New Coffee Table
We recently found ourselves in need of a small coffee table in our new digs and thought of this old wood crate; when and where it was acquired no one remembers.
I got a 4x4 and cut off 4 4" chunks and made some legs and lo and behold, we have a new coffee table. We rather like it.
remember good old cracker jacks?
Now, what were ribbon corn confections?

Out with the Old In with the New Bulletin Board Style!
Out with the Old In with the New Bulletin Board Style!
Happy Wednesday! So happy the week is going by fast! So close to Spring break I can almost smell it!!
Spring is finally here and its almost end of the year. But instead of trying to clean up a bit and put stuff away, here I am creating a new bulletin board for my class!
This is what my bulletin looks like now

I got these last year from Clutter Free Classroom and mixed it up with Rockin Teacher Materials. It was an awesome set with tons of different choices for the board. If you want to read a bit more about how I set it up and planned to use it, click here to take you to that post.
Its not that I dont love this board, I just think for my class this year, it just isnt for them. I will definitely try this again next year and see how it works with my new babies.
Okay after thinking..not hard of course
I came up with a sweet idea! I have been seeing this kind of idea lately on pinterest and thought it would be perfect!
Okay so picture this...
I dont have kids of my own but I can kind of figure out that this is how the conversation goes when my kids gets picked up from school.
Mom: Hey honey, what did you learn in school today?
Child: Nothing
LOL I figured, this bulletin can help kids remember what they learned that particular day. We can discuss in class all the new topics we covered and the things we reviewed. That way when they walk out, they have been refreshed with what they learn? Are ya with me? Okiee..
This is what I was inspired by on pinterest. This was created by Teach from the Heart

Cute right???
Well I started to make it mw own.
This is mid progress

I use the letters from the previous bulletin to help me set up this one. I whipped this up so quick.
Final product

Side view

If you squint your eyes, you could see what I wrote! LOL
Here is a before and after shot. I just realized I have been doing those a lot lately!

My plan for this is, at the end of the day, I will ask my little ones "What Stuck Today". The point is for them to backtrack and think about all the things we reviewed and went over. Everything they come up with, I will put on a post it and slab on the "What Stuck" wall. I think it will be a fun way to get my little ones minds going, even if it is the end of the day. This way when their parents ask them what they learned, they can remember this!
Its worth a try and I am excited to get started!!
Have you guys tried this? How has it worked for you ?
Id love to hear your thoughts!

Out With the Old In With the New Part III
Out With the Old In With the New Part III
Hey all. So this 4 day weekend was simply amazing. First time ever I got my Christmas shopping done this early. I finished everyone! Can you believe that? Because I certainly can not. Now I get to spend more time with my family and hubby during the holidays. Its a win- win!
Being in the holiday spirit so soon, I decided to update one of my favorites!
My Reindeer Fun - Craftivity!

I added some extra cuteness and some more fun printables. I love updating my products. I like to give it an extra touch it didnt have before. Here are some printables inside this holiday pack

I know my little ones love Rudolph and learning about reindeer. I tried to include some cute printables all about just that.

I also included tons of writing printables and other worksheets that would be perfect for morning work, center, early finishers and even homework. Its a fun way to get the little ones learning and excited about the holidays while working on many skills. And a cute craft. Who doesnt love that?
This pack includes:
-Stencils/directions for craft
-Writing prompts/half/full/black&w/primary/secondary
-Letters to Santa
-Making words
-Word search
-ABC order
-Adjectives
- Word of the day

Old Dickies Jeans New Wallet
Old Dickies Jeans New Wallet
I had this pair of Dickies jeans in my fabric stash for about 4 years. The only thing wrong with them was that they were missing a button, and, no longer fit J. He saw the needles and pins holder (a couple posts down) that I made for myself, and wanted me to make something for him. So, he chose out these jeans and an old camo bandanna, and now they are a wallet! Right now he just uses a small binder clip- he does not like anything big or bulky, and having to actually open something up to get money out would be horrible! So this is very simple, with just a pocket on front for essential cards and a pocket on the back for cash, receipts, or whatever. I have to be honest... the first wallet did not come out as planned, so it is now a carrier for Ks tiny beloved transformer! Luckily there was another Dickies patch on the other pant leg, and this wallet turned out much better. I hope he likes it!

Onwards Upwards with the New
Onwards Upwards with the New
HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!
Thanks for dropping in on the first day of 2017.
Lets put 2016 behind us, and move on, shall we?
No dwelling on the past, unless it serves to improve the NOW
or the future, unless it helps gain insight.
We all cherish memories, of course.
But living in them is no life.
Lets believe that 2017 is full of promise and hope.
Lets spread some love!
Random Acts of Kindness make the world a sweeter place.
I can only speak for myself,
but I shall endeavour to keep on doing the best that I can.
If I strive to do the next right thing,
treat people as I would like to be treated,
then I can go through this chaotic, crazy world in the knowledge that I am keeping my side of the street clean.
And thats pretty much all I can do.
Lets play a Groovi Distraction game.
lets look at how I made the 2017 card yesterday...
Have you seen the new Open Number plates?
They are so useful and fun to use.
![]() |
| The 6 and the 9 are identical! Doh! Ah well. We like a logical set. |
How to position the numbers first.
Well, lets start in the centre, with the 0.
Then wrap the other numbers around.
Simply slot them in the Starter Kit Plate Mate

with the Inset.

and move the parchment around to suit.
Piece of cake.
Then I just started writng my message around the numbers,
using the Jayne Nestorenko Frame ABC

Always working backwards.
It is best to place a piece of tracing paper or scrap parchment over the numbers sheet, write out the words on parchment and then flip the parchment, so you can see what you are doing.
Did I do that? Did I heck.
Thats why my spacing is all to cock!
Time to fill the numbers. This is the ingenious part.
I went with a really tight floral plate which has just been launched.
Saw Julie Owens use it in a 80th card and thought it was perfect for the job. I love it. Thanks Julie xxx

| Floral Circle Plate |
Parchment started curling because of my hot hands, but then I remembered the Groovi Guard - another clever little piece of kit.
lean on it and work through the apertures.

Double frame using the same ABC Plate.
Ive had a request for a smaller version of this framer ABC,
for smaller cards. I will see what can be done next week....
Filled the frame.
Picked a fab background from the new Northern Lights book of Designer Papers. In case you missed the news, we have printed
4 brand new super background paper books,
to be launched next week Sunday on Hochanda 2pm-4pm.
Used Distress markers to colour in.
I think they are excellent on parchment.
the full set

Here, if you look closely, you can see I have used the fine nib end to draw a drop shadow on all the words in the message.
You have to just decide where the light is coming from, and then draw the shadow on the other side of every letter.
It is the consistency, the always staying on the same side of EVERY letter or shape which adds to the impact.
I used them to create the drop shadows on the number too, but this time I used the flat edge of the brush nib, the other end of the pen.
Time to trim the art back. I find lowtack masking tape helps immensely, to hold the piece in place whilst using a blade.
The Crafters Companion Glue Pen is also excellent for attaching the parchment to the background paper,
especially behind the coloured areas.
There.
And now you know the rest of the story.
Many of you who have been following the Groovi Trail with us will have know exactly how this card was made.
But I know for sure that there are many newcomers, and those good people will appreciate the input for sure.
Nobody like turning the telly on halfway through a film, do they.
Anyway, time for lunch.
Dave and I are going to take a walk to the local restaurant,
although the weather is a little overcast.
Nonetheless, it will be nice to get some fresh air,
and welcome in the New Year with my honey.
Lets make it a good one, a year to remember.
Lets make this year count.
Wishing you good health, joy and sweet content.
And then some more good health - its the key.
I really do believe that.
Love always,
Barb
