Ondo state Govt Declares Holiday for Voters Registration
The Ondo state Government has declared Friday 15th
and 22nd of August as public Holidays. According to a statement by the State's Commissioner for Information, Kayode Akinmade, this is to enable
public servants in the state participate actively in the
fresh voters registration exercise being organised by
the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as well as the collection of the newly
introduced permanent voters card.
Voters are expected to begin the exchange of their
old temporary voters card for a permanent one on the
15th to the 17th while registration of fresh voters
will hold between the 20th and 22nd of August.
The government urged Civil servants in the state and
the general public to take advantage of the holidays
and ensure that they partake actively in the exercise
by exchanging their temporary voter's card for a
permanent one and also register if they have not done so.
