Oriental (or Persian or Killim) rugs are a big trend in home decor right now. Whether vintage or new, theyve found their way onto floors in every room in the house - even kitchens and bathrooms! In the past, oriental rugs fell firmly into more traditional decor camp and were paired with heavily ornate, dark furniture, but over the past few years, Ive found them creeping their way into many modern spaces. Because they tend to have saturated colors and intricate, busy patterns, they have the ability to add visual interest and balance to an otherwise more neutral, light-colored room - at least thats my favorite way to use them! Ive heard it said that oriental rugs can be like art for the floor, and I think I agree!
I found a few pretty examples of modern rooms that have this style of rug and thought Id share with yall today.

What do you think of mixing these two styles?
If youre in the market for a vintage killim/oriental/persian rug, try Etsy or Ebay.
For new, Google is your friend! You just have to figure out what style you like and then you can find them just about anywhere :).
